Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) stated that if one sees in a dream that they have laid a new foundation, it is an indication that they will benefit from the common people and the elite to the same extent. however, if the foundation is laid in an unknown place, and it is unclear who owns the land, it indicates that religious and worldly affairs will be fruitless. if one sees that the foundation is laid on their own land, it means they will benefit from lawful sustenance. hazrat ibrahim kermani (may allah have mercy on him) said that if a person sees that the foundation is made of solid bricks and lime, it indicates that they will receive unlawful wealth. if the foundation is of unbaked bricks, it indicates that their status will be elevated in religious matters. but if the foundation of solid bricks is laid and removed, it indicates being occupied with worldly affairs. if the dreamer lays the foundation themselves and receives wages, it indicates they will gain profit. if they see a foundation of solid bricks, they will benefit from the king; if made of unbaked bricks and clay, they will gain from common people. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) said that if one sees they have built a city, it indicates they will shelter a group of people. seeing a fortress being built suggests they will be safe from the mischief of enemies. building a palace suggests being engaged in worldly matters. building a house and sitting in it indicates gaining something beneficial. building a mosque indicates one will lead people to reform. if a minaret foundation is laid, it signifies that their name will become known for charity. if they see a sculpted artifact made, they will marry. building a bathhouse suggests encountering distress and sorrow. building a garden indicates marrying a virtuous and wealthy woman. building a cemetery indicates engagement in matters of the hereafter. constructing a dome indicates the pursuit of esteem and rank. completing a foundation indicates fulfilling both worldly and religious duties; leaving it unfinished suggests that their tasks will remain incomplete.
