Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) stated that in a dream, quenching one's thirst is better than being thirsty. if one finds themselves very thirsty and cannot find water, it indicates that they will face distress and difficulty either in their religious or worldly life. if one dreams of being thirsty, doesn't find water, or someone gives them water but they do not drink it, it implies that they will be relieved from distress and calamities and will eventually achieve their desires. hazrat jabir maghrebi (may allah have mercy on him) stated that thirst in a dream represents corruption in one's faith. if one dreams of finding and drinking water while thirsty, it suggests that they will commit a sin but will eventually repent and live a reformed and devout life.
