Dream interpretation of hazrat daniyal (may allah have mercy on him) said that in a dream, the sun represents a king or a caliph. if one sees in a dream that he has caught the sun from the sky or has taken it in his kingdom, it is a sign that he will receive kingship or greatness, or he will become a friend and close to the king. and if he sees that he himself has become the sun, it is an indication that he will be a king according to the measure of the sun. if he is not worthy of kingship, he will receive greatness and majesty according to his courage. and if he sees a battle with the sun, it is a sign that the king will wage war and conflict with him. and if he sees that the moon has taken the place of the sun, it is an indication that he will remain king and the kingdom will stay intact. and if he sees taking light from the sun, it is a sign that he will take a kingdom from a great king. and if he sees that he has caught the sun but not from the sky, and it has no light and is dark, then he will be freed from sorrow. and if he sees that the sun is dark and black and not in its place, it is an indication that the king will be needy in his affairs. hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) said that in a dream, the sun is a noble king, the moon is a minister, venus is a woman, mercury is the scribe of the king, mars is a royal warrior, and the rest of the stars are the king's army. hazrat jabir maghribi (may allah have mercy on him) said that in a dream, the sun is the father, the moon is the mother, and the rest of the stars are brothers. hence, allah has mentioned in his word the story of yusuf (peace be upon him): "indeed, i saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon; i saw them bowing to me." and any increase or decrease in the sun, moon, and stars indicates the parents and brothers. and if one sees the sun rising brightly and purely and shining in his house, it is a sign that he will desire a woman from his relatives. and if he sees clouds, etc., covering the light of the sun, it is a sign that the king's condition will be dangerous, and his affairs will change, especially if he sees the sun unveiling. and if he sees the sun coming from darkness to light, it is a sign that the king will become healthy from sickness soon. if he sees that there is a string or rope hanging on the body of the sun and he touches it, it is a sign that he will gain help and strength from the king. and if he sees that the rope broke and he fell, it is a sign that he will fall from greatness and rank. if he sees that he has prostrated to the sun or moon in a dream, it is a sign that a sin or mistake will become apparent from him. and if he sees that the sun, moon, or all the stars have gathered in one place and he takes their light, it is a sign that he will gain the kingship of the world and all the kings of the world will be subject to him. and if he sees that he has held the sun, moon, and stars, and they are all black and dark, it is an indication that the dreamer will perish, especially if he is oppressive and tyrannical. hazrat kirmani (may allah have mercy on him) said if one sees a black point in the middle of the sun, it indicates that the king's heart will be preoccupied with the country. and if he sees two suns fighting each other, it is indicative of two kings fighting each other. and if he sees the sun has descended on the earth without light, it is indicative that the king of that country will be deposed from the kingdom and deprived of the country. if he sees the sun in his hand black, it is a sign that both the king and the dreamer will be afflicted by grief. and if he sees that the sun has disappeared in a hole, it indicates that the king will die and there will be grief and sorrow among the people. and if he sees that the sun and stars have been hidden by something, it indicates that the king, along with his army, will be defeated by the enemy. and if he sees that he is worshiping the sun, it is a sign that he will become close to a great king. hazrat ismail ashath (may allah have mercy on him) said if one sees in a dream that his face is towards the sun, then he turns his face away from the sun, it indicates that he was an infidel, then became a muslim, and in the end will become an infidel again. and if he sees that he has looked at the sun again in a dream, it is a sign that the king of that country will suffer from something hopeless. and if he sees the sun talking to him, it is a sign that he will receive rank, majesty, and greatness from the king. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) said that seeing the sun in a dream can be interpreted in eight ways. first: the caliph. second: the great sultan. third: the chief. fourth: the great ruler. fifth: the just king. sixth: the benefit of the people. seventh: a woman for a man and a man for a woman. eighth: good and bright deeds. and he also said that if one sees himself prostrating to the sun, it indicates that the king will favor him and make him his companion. the rank will be high, the chiefs and leaders of the country will do justice; seeing only the rays of the sun has the opposite rule.
