Dream interpretation of hazrat daniyal (peace be upon him) said that rain in a dream symbolizes god's mercy and blessings upon his servants. when the rain is general and reaches everywhere, it is a sign of god's mercy spreading. seeing rain at its proper time is very good, especially when people desire rain, it is very auspicious. however, if one sees torrential rain only in one's own lane and nowhere else, it indicates trouble and illness for the people of that place. if the rain is gentle, it indicates goodness and blessing for the people. seeing rain at the beginning of the year or month suggests that prosperity will increase that year or month. however, if the rain is heavy and dark, it indicates illness that can lead to destruction. hazrat ibn sirin (peace be upon him) said that if someone sees heavy rain in a dream occurring at its time, it indicates an army of distress and adversity in those days. if one sees themselves making ablution with rainwater, it indicates safety from fear and sorrow. if rain falls on one's head, it indicates a journey that will end in benefit and safety. if a person sees rain falling like a storm over people's heads, it indicates a sudden death in that land, god forbid. seeing sound from each raindrop suggests an increase in one's status and honor. performing ablution with rainwater indicates safety from fear and dread. if one sees a large rain and all the canals are filled without harm, it suggests that the king will enforce strictness, but the dreamer will be safe from his evil. if one cannot cross the canals, it suggests that they will keep the king's mischief away. if water falls like rain from the wind, it indicates god's punishment and illness will appear in that place. hazrat kirmani (peace be upon him) said that if one sees honey falling in place of rain, it indicates abundant blessings and spoils in that land. whatever thing is seen falling from the sky is interpreted as being from that species of object. drinking rainwater that is clear indicates an amount of goodness and comfort equivalent to the clarity of the water; if the water is dark and tasteless, it indicates an equivalent amount of illness and distress. hazrat jafar sadiq (peace be upon him) said that seeing rain in a dream has twelve interpretations: first, mercy; second, blessing; third, cries for help; fourth, distress and illness; fifth, adversity; sixth, fighting; seventh, bloodshed; eighth, sedition; ninth, famine; tenth, security; eleventh, disbelief; twelfth, falsehood.
