Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) said that if someone sees in a dream that they are praying facing east, it is evidence that they will go on hajj; and if it is not the time for hajj, then their inclination will be towards christians. if they see that they are praying facing west and their inclination is towards the qibla, it is evidence that they will cast islam behind their back. if they see that they are praying on the road and their back is towards the qibla, it indicates that their death is near, and they should repent. if they see that they have prayed but don't know the direction of the qibla, it is a sign that they will be on the right path in religion. hazrat ibrahim karmani (may allah have mercy on him) stated that if someone sees that they are leading a community in prayer, it indicates that they will lead the number of people who follow them. if they see that the time for prayer has passed, and they have not found a pure place to pray, it means that their tasks will be accomplished with difficulty. if someone sees that they broke the prayer, prayed, or prayed without ablution, it is evidence that the goal they are pursuing will be fulfilled. if they see that they led the prayer in a mosque or a school, it indicates that the king of that country will follow them. the opposite signifies the opposite interpretation. if they see that they performed bowing (ruku) and prostration (sujood) completely during prayer, it indicates that their religious and worldly affairs will be righteous. hazrat jabir maghribi (may allah have mercy on him) said that if one sees they have performed the noon (zuhr) prayer on time and the sky is bright and clear, it indicates that their ranks will be elevated in the sight of allah. if the sky is dark and cloudy, it signifies sorrow and grief. if they see they have prayed, it means their hopes will be fulfilled. if they see they have performed the evening (maghrib) prayer, it indicates dealing with family and being happy with them. if they see they performed the morning (fajr) prayer, it indicates they will go on a journey. if a woman sees this dream, it means she will menstruate. if they pray without ablution, it indicates they will be ill. if they perform the obligatory night (isha) prayer, it indicates they will be in safety and find victory over their enemy. if they see that they have prayed in a garden, it signifies they will repent from sins. if they see they prayed in a boat, it implies their debts will be settled. if they see they prayed in an improper place, it suggests they will be corrupt and ill-behaved. if they see they prayed and went into the wilderness, it signifies that they will visit the sacred grave of the prophet muhammad (peace be upon him). if they see they prayed in the kaaba, it indicates their affairs will be organized by the caliph. after prayer, if they prostrate, it shows victory over a great and wealthy person whom they will dominate. if they see they did not prostrate except to allah, it denotes their wishes will be fulfilled. if they see they prostrated on a wall, it signifies they will face humiliation from elders. if they see they prayed and drank honey, it indicates closeness to family. if they see they are sitting in prayer in the state of tashahhud, it indicates freedom from sorrow and fulfillment of wishes. if they see they turned the first salutation (salam) of the prayer to their left side, it denotes tumultuous conditions. if they see they prayed sitting, it signifies they will gain victory over enemies, and some say their excuse will be accepted. if they see they supplicated for themselves in prayer, it indicates they will have a child. the word of allah says: 'when he called to his lord a call in secret.' (maryam 19:3) if they see they prayed in the darkness, it signifies joy from sorrows. if they see they performed night prayer, it indicates safety from all kinds of fears, and they will receive blessings and greatness. if they see they prayed on their side, it implies illness, and if they see they performed the friday prayer, it implies travel and earning halal livelihood. if they see they prayed in bait al-maqdis, it denotes inheritance and ample sustenance. if they see they prayed in or on the roof of the kaaba, it indicates facing the kaaba, and they will have a good ending. hazrat hafiz mu'abar (may allah have mercy on him) said that praying in a dream has three aspects: (1) obligatory (2) sunnah (3) nafl. if someone sees they have performed obligatory prayer, it suggests that allah will grant them the chance to perform hajj and protect them from sin. the word of allah states: 'indeed, prayer prevents immorality and wrongdoing.' (al-ankabut 29:45) if they see they performed sunnah prayer, it signifies patience in work, fame, and mercy towards others. if they see they performed nafl prayer, it indicates valuing family and working hard for friends and treating everyone with kindness. if they see they prayed on a beast, it signifies great worry, and if they see they prayed in a factory or mine, it implies that allah will bless their gain and work. if they see they performed the friday prayer, it indicates that their work will be accomplished with satisfaction and unity. hazrat khalid isfahani (may allah have mercy on him) said that seeing oneself bowing and prostrating to allah in a dream is evidence of divine nearness. the word of allah states: 'do not obey him at all but prostrate and draw near.' (al-alaq 96:19) dream interpreters have said that if someone sees they did not bow during prayer, it signifies they will not give zakat, and if they see they prayed fully, it indicates that allah will accept their worship, grant their supplication, and look upon them with mercy. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) said that prayer in a dream is one of seven reasons: (1) safety (2) happiness (3) honor (4) rank (5) liberation (6) fulfillment (7) deficiency in decree. bowing and prostrating in a dream have five reasons: (1) fulfillment of purpose (2) wealth (3) victory (4) success (5) fulfilling the command of allah. the word of allah states: 'o you who believe, bow and prostrate and worship your lord and do good that you may succeed.' (al-hajj 22:77) if they see they prayed over a deceased, it indicates prayer and praise for them. if they see they did not complete the prayer, its interpretation is opposite of the previous.
