Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) said that in dreams, a banquet represents coming together in something. if one sees that he has invited people to a banquet, it means he will undertake a task that will keep him from all diversions. and if he sees that people have taken him to a garden for a banquet and that garden is filled with flowing water and a variety of fruits, it is evidence that he will go to jihad and will be martyred. allah, the almighty's command is: {feeha bifakihatin katheeratin washarabin} (surah: 38, verse: 51) 'in it are many fruits and drinks.' hazrat ibrahim karmani (may allah have mercy on him) said that seeing such a banquet in a dream where there is dancing, music, and instruments indicates sorrow, grief, and misfortune, but if these things are absent, it indicates goodness and blessings. hazrat jabir maghribi (may allah have mercy on him) said that a banquet in a dream signifies the return of the absent. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) said that if one sees a bride being desired without marriage and a banquet being held for her, it is evidence that sorrow and grief will befall him.
