Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin, may allah have mercy on him, said that if one sees in a dream that he has received something as a gift, the interpreter should find out what kind of gift it is. is it gold, silver, or cloth, and is the giver an unknown person or a known person, a man or a woman? once all matters are clarified, an interpretation can be given. if it is a desirable thing, goodness and virtue will be achieved. and if the giver is an unknown person, it implies disgrace in the world. if the gift is promised as a reward, it is all false. and if he sees that he has received something as a gift and then returned it, it is an indication that both good and bad will revert to the one who gave it. and if one sees that he received fruit, cloth, or some sweet thing as a gift, it indicates that it will be obtained. if the giver is a christian or jew, and it is a good and noble gift taken with desire, then it signifies that his faith may be in danger. if a jew or christian sees in a dream that a muslim has given him a gift and accepts it with desire, it signifies that he will become a muslim. hazrat ibrahim kermani, may allah have mercy on him, said that if one sees that someone has given him a gift and he expresses gratitude, it indicates increased wealth and health. if gratitude is not shown, the interpretation is contrary. hazrat jabir maghribi, may allah have mercy on him, said that if one sees the gift as something good, but the giver is a mean person, its interpretation is bad.
