Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) stated that both the flint and the firestone are partners. one is strong and courageous, and the other is hard-hearted. they both lead people to progress and great deeds. hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) stated that if fire is produced from the flint and a lamp is lit, then if the person who saw the dream is a king, it means that the populace will find comfort in his justice and fairness. if the dreamer is a scholar, it means people will benefit from his knowledge and wisdom. if he is a merchant, it indicates that people will receive goodness, generosity, and kindness from him. if he is a dervish, it shows that people will benefit from his virtues and character. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) stated that if the fire is seen coming out of the flint, it means he will collect unlawful wealth for the king, or take a bribe in his work. and if he is unable to produce fire from the flintstone, it signifies that he will seek wealth and will not find it.
