Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) said that seeing sparks of fire in a dream is a bad omen that will befall the dreamer. if sparks fall upon him without measure, it indicates that he will be caught in hardship and severe trouble. hazrat kirmani (may allah have mercy on him) said that if one sees sparks falling in a city or street, it signifies that war and disorder will arise in that place. if the sparks are very large, it is an indication of divine punishment befalling him or that locality. the decree of allah, the almighty, is: ‘indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a palace, as if they were yellow camels.’ (al-mursalat 77:32-33). if one sees sparks falling among people, it suggests that war and conflict will occur in that place. throwing fire and slipping with it leads to hurling many insults. hazrat jabir maghribi (may allah have mercy on him) said that if one sees a piece of fire in their hand, it indicates being engaged in royal work. seeing smoke with the fire signifies fear in the work. if in a dream the fire in his hand becomes cool, it indicates gaining unlawful wealth by serving the king. if he sees giving a piece of that fire to people, it signifies causing grief and harm with his actions, and the people becoming his enemies. if he cooks and eats food on the fire, it indicates hearing pleasant talks from people. hazrat jafar sadiq (may allah have mercy on him) stated that seeing fire in a dream has twenty-five reasons: (1) disorder (2) war (3) corruption (4) fear (5) enmity (6) bad talks (7) prohibition from work (8) anger of the king (9) punishment (10) hypocrisy (11) misguidance and irreligion (12) knowledge and wisdom (13) path to guidance (14) calamity (15) fear (16) burning (17) serving the king (18) plague (19) fever (20) boils (21) ease of work (22) excellence (23) unlawful wealth (24) livelihood (25) profit.
