Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (ra) said that in a dream, a dog is a low and kind enemy, and a black dog is an enemy in the arabs, and a white dog is an enemy in the non-arabs. if one sees that a dog has bitten him, it is an indication that he will suffer discomfort from an enemy. if he sees that his clothes are stained by a dog’s saliva, it is an indication that he will be troubled by the enemy’s words. if he sees that a dog has torn his clothes, it is an indication that he will suffer financial loss. if he sees that he has eaten the dog’s meat, it is an indication that he will overcome the enemy. if he sees that he has given bread to the dog, it is an indication that his livelihood will be plentiful. if he sees that the dog is near him, it is an indication that the enemy will be greedy towards him. if he sees that a dog has said the takbeer over him, it is an indication that he will rely on a low enemy. if he sees that he has drunk the milk of a female dog, it is an indication of fear and terror. if he sees a dog has run away from him, it is an indication that the enemy will be cautious. hazrat ibrahim karmani (ra) said if one sees in a dream that a female dog has entered his house, it is an indication that he will marry a woman with low courage and nobility. hazrat ismail ash’ath (ra) said that a hunting dog is an apparent enemy, and if one sees that he is hunting with the dog, it is an indication that he will receive goodness from an enemy who claims to be wise. if he sees that he has eaten the meat of a hunting dog, it is an indication that he will receive inheritance. if he sees that the hunting dog has gone far from him, it is an indication that he will part from a beneficial enemy. hazrat jafar sadiq (ra) said seeing a dog in a dream is for four reasons: (1) enemy, (2) greedy king, (3) wise person, (4) gossiping person.
