Dream interpretation of deafness in a dream signifies poverty, misfortune, and humility in tasks. hazrat ibn sirin, may allah have mercy on him, said that deafness in a dream is an indication of the ruin of religion and of sorrow and grief, and one's affairs will remain unresolved, and desires will not be fulfilled. allah almighty says: {deaf, dumb, blind, and they will not return} (al-baqarah 2:18). hazrat ibrahim kermani, may allah have mercy on him, stated that deafness in a dream is an indication of poverty and impediment in tasks. if one sees that ears are hearing, it is an indication of the resolution of tasks and the achievement of heart's desires and goals, and one will obtain a share of allah almighty's mercy. hazrat jafar sadiq, may allah have mercy upon him, said that deafness in a dream is based on four reasons: (1) poverty (2) ruin of religion (3) sorrow and grief (4) impediment in tasks and failure.
