Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin, may allah have mercy upon him, said that the chest in a dream signifies shariah. the command of allah, the exalted, states: [39:22] 'is he whose breast allah has expanded for islam?' if one sees that his chest has widened in a dream, it indicates that all his affairs will be in order. if he sees that his chest has tightened, it signifies a disorder in his faith. if he sees that there is a green writing on his chest, it indicates that allah, the exalted, will bestow him honor. if he sees that there is blue writing, it denotes a disorder in his faith and that he will die without witness. if he sees that the hair on his chest is shaved, it signifies that his debt will be paid off. hazrat jabir maghribi, may allah have mercy upon him, said if one sees shortness of breath in his chest, indicating inability to breathe, it signifies that both religion and the world will be opened for him. if he sees that his chest is warm but the rest of his body is cold, it indicates his heart will be attached to someone. hazrat daniyal, may allah have mercy upon him, said that if one sees a narrow chest, it indicates despondency. a broad chest signifies joy and happiness according to some interpreters if an infidel sees his chest broaden, he will become a muslim. as the almighty stated: [6:125] whomsoever allah wills to guide, he expands his chest to islam. hazrat jafar sadiq, may allah have mercy upon him, said that seeing one’s chest in a dream signifies seven things: (1) knowledge and wisdom (2) generosity (3) faith (4) belief (5) disbelief (6) death (7) stinginess.
