Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin, may allah have mercy on him, said that if someone sees in a dream that he has become blind, it is an indication that he will go astray from the religion of islam. and if he sees that one of his eyes has become blind, it is an indication that half his religion is lost or he has committed a major sin, and some calamity will come upon one of his body parts. hazrat ibrahim karmani, may allah have mercy on him, said that if he sees that he has taken a blind man by the hand, it indicates that he will go astray. hazrat jabir maghribi, may allah have mercy on him, said that if he sees that he has become blind, it indicates that he will do good deeds with his own hands. and if he sees that he has blinded someone in one eye, it indicates that he will lead him astray from the path of religion. and if he sees that he has blinded an animal, it is an indication that harm and affliction will reach the person associated with that animal. hazrat jafar sadiq, may allah have mercy on him, said that in dreams, blindness represents seven things: (1) poverty (2) bad condition (3) grief and sorrow (4) bodily harm (5) calamity (6) loss of wealth (7) destruction of religion. the word of god almighty is {deaf, dumb, blind, so they will not return} (al-baqarah 2:18). if a blind person sees in a dream that he has become sighted, it is an indication that the affairs of the world will be open to him, and he will hope in despair and receive his share and portion from the mercy of god almighty. the word of god almighty is: {do not despair of the mercy of allah, indeed allah forgives all sins} (al-zumar 39:53).
