Dream interpretation of hazrat ibn sirin (may allah have mercy on him) said that in a dream, an axe (tabar) serves as a servant who will work when asked. however, if he is assigned a task, he wishes to break it so that he is not tasked again. hazrat jaber maghribi (may allah have mercy on him) stated that in a dream, an axe symbolizes a frightening person. if he helps, he is a hypocrite and incites conflict and separation among people. if someone dreams of having an axe, or receives one, it signifies friendship with a person of similar character. if the axe is seen broken or lost in the dream, it indicates death.
